1. Ensure engine is cool; disconnect battery and remove timing covers.
2. Align crankshaft and camshaft to TDC (Top Dead Center) using factory timing marks.
3. Remove old gear bolts, noting any washers or spacers; extract the worn gear.
4. Clean camshaft mounting surface; install new gear, aligning keyway with camshaft shaft.
5. Torque bolts to specification (25–30 Nm) in a sequential pattern.
6. Recheck timing alignment, reinstall covers, and reconnect battery.
